Here’s footage of a mower running on diesel fumes. Some people are moving in this direction to produce a “`half geet” type setup where the mixture is leaned out. There have been reports in the past of similar systems getting 50:1 mixes to perform solidly. That’s 1 part gasoline/diesel/gasohol etc to 50 parts water.

Some people have suggested that once the mixture is leaned out so far it is hardly burning hydrocarbons any longer and effectively should be considered a water/steam piston. By cracking the water the energy released is equivalent to the energy that can be harnessed in a steam system.

Recent developments are moving towards this interim process to fine tune the system. However others are intending to move completely to water and bypass this interim step.
